As the grind continues, I’ve been thinking a lot about connection. Not just the kind that happens in front of the camera, but the kind that goes deeper. The kind that builds confidence. The kind that brings people together. The kind that gives young people a reason to feel proud of who they are.
That’s really where the idea of a Rep Team came from. I want to take a moment to explain what it is, how it started, and why it might be exactly what your child has been looking for.
Let me walk you through it.
One night, while scrolling through articles to help me grow my photography business, I stumbled across one that caught my attention. It was titled something like “How to Design a Senior Rep Program That Works for Your Photography Business.” Out of curiosity, I clicked. Before I knew it, I was deep into this world of styled shoots, creative teams, and brand reps. I had never seen anything like it before.
The more I read, the more I thought, this actually makes a lot of sense. And the more I thought about it, the more I realized I hadn’t seen anything like it happening here, in Elmhurst or the surrounding areas. No photographers I knew were doing it. So I said to myself, Cass, maybe this is it. Maybe this is the thing that helps you grow while helping others feel like a part of something meaningful.
I got to work immediately.
I started designing what would become the Senior Rep Team. I pictured a small group of high school students who would represent Rise Up Creations throughout the year. They’d get access to exclusive photo shoots, creative styling opportunities, and a chance to be featured online and in promotional materials.
While I was talking to friends and family about the idea, someone asked, “Would you consider doing something like this for younger kids too?” That question stopped me for a second. I hadn’t considered it. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.
That’s when the Junior Rep Team was born.
For days, I sat building out the structure. I wrote up the perks, created graphics, designed pages for the website, brainstormed ideas for shoots, and started to see a full program coming together. The colors felt right. The tone felt right. The purpose felt clear. It was exciting.
I hit post. I paid for a social media boost. And then I waited.
And waited.
Not much happened.
It’s hard to describe that feeling. It wasn’t just disappointment. It was something heavier. I had poured so much into this. But I didn’t want to quit. So I asked myself, what else can I do?
I started doing outreach. I sent messages to people I follow, introduced myself and my business, and explained the rep team concept. I told them why I believed in it and how I thought it could help their child. I got a few applications. A couple of commitments. But not enough to officially launch the teams.
So here I am, doing what I should have done from the start—explaining it all more clearly.
What Is a Rep Team?
A Rep Team is a small group of students who represent Rise Up Creations throughout the year. These team members are invited to take part in exclusive, professional photo shoots and creative brand opportunities.
But it’s more than just taking pictures.
Rep Team members will build confidence, make new friends, and learn how to express themselves in front of the camera. They will grow into young leaders who are proud of who they are. It becomes a space to be seen and celebrated.
And here’s something important. It is completely free.
Many rep programs charge their participants. I don’t. I want this to be an opportunity, not a cost. That’s intentional. This is about access, inclusion, and helping kids rise into their potential.
What Makes the Rise Up Creations Rep Team Unique?
In addition to the photos and creative opportunities, all Rep Team members will also take part in community service projects within Elmhurst.
We will find meaningful ways to give back. This could mean helping out at local events, assisting with donation drives, volunteering for neighborhood causes, or simply being a visible, positive presence in our town.
The goal is for kids to grow not just as models, but as people. As leaders. As givers. I want this team to stand for something bigger than just great photos.
Why Might This Be a Great Fit for Your Child?
If your child enjoys being creative, this could be for them.
If your child could use a confidence boost, this could be for them.
If you’ve been looking for a positive outlet where your child can meet others, express themselves, and gain real experience, this could absolutely be for them.
And if your child is shy or unsure? That is completely okay. Some of the most amazing transformations happen when quiet kids start to see themselves in a new way through the lens.
Here’s What They’ll Receive:
- A free, professional photography experience throughout the year
- Opportunities to be featured on social media and the Rise Up Creations website
- A supportive group environment that encourages confidence and creativity
- Styled individual and group shoots
- Early access to future booking opportunities
- Personal growth in leadership, communication, and collaboration
- Involvement in community service projects right here in Elmhurst
- A place to be themselves and build something meaningful
